What is aphasia? A speech disorder that is caused when the brain is damaged which led to Paul Broca's discovery of the area of the brain in the left frontal lobe that deals with speech that was coined "Broca's Area".
One of Paul Broca's patients by the name of Leborgne "Tan", lost his ability to speak and eventually only could say, "Tan"
When Tan died, Paul Broca preformed an autopsy and found that his brain was damaged at the left frontal lobe. That Tan infact had a lesion at his frontal lobe just as he predicted!

Broca's area is associated with expressive aphasia. Also the right side of the body is usually weak or paralized because the frontal lobe is important for body movement. |
